WE MAKE COOL SHIT, PROFESSIONALLY

BORN & BRED IN AUSTIN, TEXAS

WHO WE ARE

Group 16_edited.jpg

Welcome to Hook & Eye. You're looking at the only shop in Austin Texas that's run by four badass women who have worked in film and television, brought stage productions to life, fabricated speciality items, created a full scale fitting room for any size production, and so much more.

We have the years of experience, the imagination, and the resources to create immersive costumes, show stopping outfits, or whatever it may be to bring your vision to life.

Our mission is to prioritize equality, to create a safe space for everyone, and to foster a supportive environment every step of the way. If you feel the same, and are looking to have something designed, we'd love to hear from you.

WHERE YOU'VE SEEN OUR WORK

Spy Kids: Armageddon

For the return of the long-time franchise Spy Kids, our very own Sam Thomas was called in to create a suit of armor that took cues from ancient civilizations, super hero spectacles, and other blockbuster films. Click below to read more about how this costume was brought to life!

Beauty and the Beast

When thinking about any production of Beauty and the Beast, one of the first things that comes to mind are the wealth of costumes needed to put on a show of this sort. With Lumiere, Cogsworth, Chip, and even the Armoire itself, the list goes on and on. For this project, Emma Craig took the lead on Mrs. Potts and brought a stunning build to life.

Guys and Dolls

For this production of Guys and Dolls, Samantha Gashette was hired to be both the lead costume designer and the shop director. Her creations helped anchor the show and were called "true to period and to our musical theater concept of Broadway style".

University of Texas Football

There are few things, if any, in the state of Texas that are taken more seriously than UT Football. From the fans, to the players themselves, football is a way of life. This too extends to the band, and most notably, the Drum Major. In this case, UT asked Lindsey Rae to create a one of a kind uniform for the band leader, and something that bled burnt orange.
